About Tutoring Online and in the Center

Free academic tutoring for individuals and small groups is provided for all BRCC students. Trained peer tutors and professional staff are available to tutor specific subject areas and assist students in developing effective learning strategies.

Tutoring is designed to support and enhance classroom learning and to encourage independent learning.

**Our Tutor Development Program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association's International Tutor Certification Program.**

The Center also provides free technology tutoring to all BRCC students, faculty, and staff. Trained Digital Literacy Technicians are available for assistance in all hardware, software, websites, and apps associated with learning at the college.

For information on academic and technology tutoring, visit the Digital Learning & Academic Center Canvas course.

Who the Tutors Are

We recruit tutors from BRCC, LSU, SELU, and Southern University. To qualify, prospective tutors must have a 3.0 average in the course or the subject matter they wish to tutor and an overall 3.0-grade point average. In order to get certified, our tutors must attend weekly training sessions and fulfill other requirements.
