Four Baton Rouge Community College faculty members have been named to Endowed Professorships for the 2022-23 Academic Year. Chancellor Willie E. Smith recognized the four faculty members during an evening reception on Thursday, Nov. 10.

Melanie Williams

Port Allen Site Administrator

Melanie Williams has been part of the BRCC community for more than 10 years. She is the Port Allen site administrator and assists at our Central and Acadian sites. What she loves most about her job is when students are eager to share with her what they’ve learned in class. Ms. Williams enjoys eating crawfish and says she could eat them every day. Her favorite television shows are soap operas, A Million Little Things, and The Equalizer. 

 

PROFESSIONAL RESILIENCE OCCUPATIONS
PRO Louisiana funds training courses for occupations that are critical to the state's flood recovery and resilience efforts. The goal is to develop a skilled workforce to support flood risk reduction projects and build up Louisiana’s defense against future disasters.

Named after former Louisiana Governor Mike J. Foster, the MJ Foster Promise Program is a new $10.5 million annual state fund that will provide financial support for students to earn credentials that align to high-demand jobs in these growing industry sectors.
