Welcome to the BRCC Police Department
The Baton Rouge Community College Police Department is committed to providing and maintaining a safe environment for employees, students, and visitors at the college. BRCC’s Police Department is charged with the responsibility for on-campus security, law enforcement, emergency preparedness, traffic, and parking.
BRCC police officers must successfully complete a certified police academy approved by the Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. Therefore, BRCC Police are vested with all of the powers, authority, and responsibilities granted to any police officer of the state while on property owned by the college, (including adjacent public streets) as set forth in Section 17:1805 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes.
BRCC police officers provide a range of services and constantly strive to increase professional growth and enhance customer service and safety on campus. Additionally, we seek to continue developing and implementing crime prevention strategies by expanding the Police Department to compete with the growth of the community, increase in student enrollment, and the development of new programs initiated by the college. BRCC Police provides an array of law enforcement services, crime prevention strategies, and training programs to our constituents that include but are not limited to the following:
