In an effort to ensure the accurate and efficient delivery of mail and packages at Baton Rouge Community College, please adhere to the following guidelines.

Interoffice Mail All Locations:

  • All interoffice mail must be securely closed.
  • Confidential mail is labeled as such, either in writing or with an attached label.
  • All interoffice mail must be addressed with a recipient's name, department, and building location.

Intercampus Mail between Mid-City & Acadian:

  • Interoffice mail going between Mid-City, Frazier, and Acadian Campuses is delivered by State Mail Messenger Service on a daily basis. 

Outgoing United States Postal Service (USPS) Mail for Mid-City, Frazier, & Acadian:

  • The Office of State Mail Operations is our USPS mail service provider. 
  • It is required that the sending organizational mail code number appear just below the return address.  This can be hand written. Please contact the Purchasing Department for your code. Your mail code will be very similar to your new fund or organization number.  The return address shall consist of:

  • All mail must be sealed prior to pickup.
  • The Receiving Department will pick up Mid-City outgoing mail on the daily mail runs.
  • State Mail will pick up outgoing mail once daily. Mail will be sent to the post office the following morning except for Mid-City’s Friday mail, which is sent to the post office Friday afternoon.

Outgoing United States Postal Service (USPS) Mail for All Except Mid-City, Frazier, & Acadian:

  • These locations will order and use stamps for their USPS mail.
  • These locations will be responsible for policies for stamp safe keeping.

Outgoing Packages to FedEx, UPS, and USPS:

  • If a package is to be shipped via FedEx, UPS, or USPS, please make certain that you completely fill out the shipping label. Be sure to include your organizational mail code. FedEx and UPS shipping labels can be obtained from the Receiving Department.
  • If a package is to be shipped via USPS Express Mail, please make certain that the “To:” and “From:” sections are filled out completely. Be sure to include your organizational mail code. 
  • If a return label came with the initial packaging, please fill it out completely and attach the label to the new package. Many times the return label means that you will not pay for this shipment.

Incoming Mail and Packages:

  • Instruct the sender to include in the address your name and department.

Receiving and Delivery of Personal Mail/Packages:

  • Employees are prohibited from having personal mail/packages delivered to BRCC.
  • BRCC is not responsible for theft, damage, delivery, or providing notification of delivery to the recipient for personal mail packages.
