cupidBaton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Bears men’s and women’s basketball teams will host Southern University–Shreveport Jaguars in a basketball doubleheader on Saturday, February 24, in the Bonne Sante’ Wellness Center on the Mid City Campus, 201 Community College Drive. The gameday will feature a special performance by singer and songwriter Cupid singing his platinum hit song “Cupid Shuffle”. The women’s game will tip off at 2 p.m., and the men’s game will follow at 4 p.m. Both the men’s and women’s teams will be playing in their final home game of the regular season with both teams still in the hunt to capture the Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference (LCCAC) Championship.

“We are bringing the excitement back on campus to BRCC basketball, said BRCC Athletics Director Brock Kantrow. “We’ve enhanced our gameday experience for students and fans with several upgrades inside our facility, and it’s been well received by our community and supporters. It truly is a great value for those looking to entertain the family at a reasonable cost, and what better way is there to wrap up the basketball season by doing the “Cupid Shuffle” at home with our fans.”

Both games will honor its sophomores for playing in their last regular season game at BRCC. The gameday will also be designated as Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s Academy Day, as the Catholic High School cheerleaders will be on hand to perform and cheer on the Bears. Students from Catholic High and St. Joseph’s Academy will receive free admission to both games with a valid student ID. BRCC students and employees can enter for free with their issued ID. Fans and supporters can purchase tickets online at www.brccathletics.com.
