Mila Sexton, CFREThe Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Foundation has named Mila Sexton, CFRE as Director of Philanthropic Initiatives. Sexton has a dedicated nonprofit career spanning nearly 40 years in education and healthcare raising more than $44M impacting countless families throughout Louisiana.

Most recently, Sexton served LSU’s College of Human Sciences and Education as the chief advancement officer for the University Laboratory School Foundation for the past 22 years. As a member of the ULS administrative team and LSU Foundation senior team, Sexton oversaw philanthropic giving initiatives and volunteer engagement, while providing leadership and vision for the development program. 

“This is a pivotal time as we embrace BRCC’s strategic plan through 2028. We set about to find an experienced engagement partner, and we found one. I look forward to the expertise and knowledge Sexton will bring to the team and I am confident we will continue advancing our academic programs, teaching excellence, as well as student support and success initiatives,” said Pilar Eble, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, BRCC Foundation.

A community leader, Sexton is a graduate of the 1996 Leadership Class of the Baton Rouge Chamber, earned her CFRE in 1999, was awarded the AFP Brother Donnan Berry Award in 2005, bestowed AFP’s Outstanding Professional Fundraiser in 2007, and designated one of four AFP Certified Master Trainers in Louisiana in 2018.

Baton Rouge Community College Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized April 16, 1998, existing and operating for the purpose of securing recurring philanthropic support to advance, promote, and otherwise benefit the mission of Baton Rouge Community College and students.
