Facilities Maintenance and Repair
Facilities Maintenance & Repair provides the groundwork to perform a wide range of duties expected of facilities maintenance technicians and includes five technical hands-on training courses: Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Appliance Maintenance & Repair. Upon completion of the course students can expect to respond to make-ready checklists, use maintenance terminology appropriately, identify and utilize common tools in the maintenance industry, and complete various repairs to household equipment. The program begins with core training in the classroom covering safe and proper use of tools, basic first aid, construction math, blueprint reading, vocabulary, and terminology, as well as employability skills. The lab components expose students to trade skills experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and appliance repair.
