Types of Clubs and Organizations

There are several categories of clubs and organizations at BRCC, each of which meets a specific set of goals, objectives, and student needs. These categories include areas of interest and achievement such as clubs/organizations of Special Interest, Activism and Awareness, Religious and Spiritual, and Community Service. For a complete listing of types of clubs see the navigation bar to the left.

Club Advisors

Every student organization is required to have a full-time staff or faculty member as an advisor.  The advisor has various responsibilities to the student club/organization, the most important of which is to help his/her club/organization achieve their objectives.

Advisors play a critical role in the guidance and fulfillment of student club/organization goals and are an integral part of campus life.  Students benefit most from having advisors who are committed, active, and involved with the organization and its activities.  There are a number of general duties and specific functions that both BRCC and the Office of Student Life require faculty/staff advisors to perform.

Club/organization advisors must complete a Club Advisors’ Application in order to serve as an advisor; this application can be found under "Forms" on the Clubs/Organizations page, on the navigation bar to the left.  Advisors must also attend mandatory meetings at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
