Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is proud to announce the receipt of a substantial $179,236 donation from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC) and the Contractors’ Education Trust Fund. The generous contribution was officially awarded during the LSLBC September Board meeting and marks the eighth consecutive year that BRCC's Construction Management program has been honored with this donation. BRCC is one of only four institutions statewide to receive the donation.

"We deeply appreciate the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors' recognition of the quality Construction Management program that we offer at BRCC,” said BRCC Chancellor Dr. Willie E. Smith. “Being selected as one of the institutions in Louisiana to receive this donation is an honor, and speaks to the dedication of our faculty and their standing commitment to the best education for our students."

BRCC's Construction Management program is committed to excellence and is accredited by the Board of Trustees of the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The program’s accreditation is valid through July 2027. Additionally, BRCC's Construction Management program is the only accredited two-year program in Louisiana and is one of only 15 two-year degree programs in the country to achieve accreditation.

Open to all students, BRCC's Construction Management program can be completed in as few as four semesters, offering a streamlined path to an Associate of Applied Science in Construction. The curriculum spans 60 credit hours and the coursework includes materials and methods, print reading, estimating, safety, construction law, surveying, planning/scheduling, and project management.

"We are truly grateful for the continued investment that we received from the Contractor’s Educational Trust Fund. Their generous contribution will allow us to elevate our already world-class program,” said BRCC Construction Management Program Manager Gery Frie.
