FIRST TIME STUDENT
A first-time student has never attended an accredited college.
TRANSFER STUDENT
A transfer student is a student who has previously enrolled at any college or university.
RETURNING STUDENT
Returning students have previously attended BRCC, but who did not attend during the
immediate prior semester.
VISITING STUDENT
A student who is currently at another college/university, but attending BRCC for a
semester/session and plan to return to their home institution.
NON-MATRICULATING STUDENT
A student wishing to enroll in all courses without pursuing a degree.
EARLY ADMISSIONS STUDENT
A high school student wishing to enroll in college courses for college credit only.
DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENT
A high school student wishing to enroll in college courses for both high school and
college credit.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
Students who are enrolled for credit at an accredited higher education institution
in the U.S. on a temporary visa, and who is not an immigrant (permanent resident with
an I-51 or Green Card), or an undocumented immigrant, or a refugee
CROSS ENROLLMENT
BRCC currently has cross-enrollment agreements with Louisiana State University, Southeastern
Louisiana University, and Southern University. These agreements permit BRCC students
to register for pre-approved courses at one of these institutions while concurrently
enrolled at BRCC.
