Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we proceed into this holiday weekend, I’d like to once again thank you for your continued work on behalf of our students and the college. Over the next few days, I encourage you to get some much-needed rest, enjoy time with your family, and stay safe at home.

When we return next week, we will begin a full push for registration for our summer and fall sessions that will be offered primarily online and through hybrid classes. Our community will need BRCC now more than ever as individuals cope with being laid off, high schools students try to determine their next steps while handling the disappointment of an upended senior year, and our current students look to us for some sense of direction as they chart their path forward. I ask that all faculty and staff prepare to assist these individuals who will need our help and will look to BRCC for guidance.

As you are probably aware Gov. John Bel Edwards has extended his Stay at Home order through April 30.  I encourage you to continue following all established guidelines from the CDC and our local and state authorities. Additionally, we will keep you updated as changes are made, so please be sure to monitor your email, our social media accounts and website.

Again, thank you all for the amazing work you’re doing. You are making a world of difference for our community and it shows. Have a great holiday weekend!

Sincerely,

Willie E. Smith, Ed.D.
