Controller
Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a dynamic Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure strong fiscal stewardship across the college. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for accounting, budgeting, compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all accounting and fiscal operations (AP, AR, Payroll, GL)
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and LCTCS financial standards
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare audit-ready financial statements
- Monitor grant and contract compliance and reporting
- Strengthen internal controls and optimize finance processes
- Support and mentor a high-performing finance team
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- CPA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience (Higher Ed/government a plus)
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting, compliance, and audit prep
- Experience with ERP systems (Banner is a plus)
