These program prepares students for entry-level employment in the transportation, distribution, and logistics industry. They expose students to the business of supply chain, including operations, purchasing, warehousing and distribution, project management, legal concepts, and import/export concepts.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) requires a higher level of knowledge, experience, skills, and physical abilities than that required to drive a non-commercial vehicle. In order to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), an applicant must pass both skills and knowledge testing geared to these higher standards. Additionally CDL holders are held to a higher standard when operating any type of motor vehicle on public roads. Serious traffic violations committed by a CDL holder can affect their ability to maintain their CDL certification.

 

General Vehicle Inspector

Learn the latest in automotive technology in a state-of-the-art training facility with two fully equipped diesel labs, three industry standard diagnostic/technical labs, and six high-tech classroom environments.
General Vehicle Inspector covers the inspection of passenger vehicles, light trucks, and trailers.
OBD II Vehicle Inspector test emissions.  Commercial Vehicle Inspector covers the inspection of trucks, trailers and vehicles over 10,000 lbs GVWR (commercial) and School Buses.  Louisiana State Police requires that all commercial Vehicle Inspectors have current ASE certifications in Diesel and /or School bus repairs.
 

 

Commercial  Vehicle Inspector

This course covers the inspection of Trucks, trailers & vehicles over 10,000 lbs GVWR (commercial) and School Buses Louisiana State Police requires that all Commercial Vehicle Inspectors have current ASE certifications in Diesel and/or School bus repairs. 

OBD II  Vehicle Inspector

This course is required for inspectors in the 5 parish non-attainment area only for stations required to test emissions. *Must Take 1520/GV Course as well* East Baton Rouge West Baton Rouge Ascension Iberville Livingston

 

Collision Repair – Non-Structural

Class topics range from introduction to repair process, procedures, terms, parts, tools, equipment, attachment methods, mechanical and safety systems, vehicle construction material, and refinishing and corrosion protection. This course also covers types of hardware and provides an overview of their uses during the repair process.

Collision Repair – Paint & Refinishing

This course also covers color maps, electronic paint formulation systems, and techniques to make spray out panels for color evaluation and tri-coat finishes.

 

Diesel Engine ASE Medium/Heavy

This course is compressed training and utilizes the ASE curricula for medium/heavy truck systems. Students will be introduced to the field and learn various topics such as: Cylinder Head and Valve Training, Engine Block, Cooling System, Air Induction and Exhaust Systems, Fuel System, Electronic Fuel Management System, Engine Brakes, A/C System – General, Air/ Mechanical , Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling, and Handling, Preventive Maintenance and Inspection, and heating and cooling systems.
