State Rep. Vanessa Caston LaFleurJoin Baton Rouge Community College's Beta Mu Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as they host their Spring Induction Ceremony Wednesday, March 22, at 5 p.m. in the Louisiana Boardroom. The keynote speaker will be State Representative Vanessa Caston LaFleur as she welcomes our spring semester inductees.

LaFleur received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University A&M College and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from Southern University Law Center. She currently represents District 101 in the Louisiana House of Representatives. She serves on the Commerce, Retirement, and Administration of Criminal Justice Committees. LaFleur was recently named a 2022 Legislative Shining Star for her 100 % voting record with sexual assault survivors.  She most recently completed a fellowship with the Fair Fight Initiative, an organization founded by Stacey Abrams.  Fair Fight trains and engages a robust network of grassroots activists that work to strengthen democracy at all levels. LaFleur is currently a cohort in Changemakers where a coalition of civic leaders and policymakers have committed to take achieve the shared goal of an excellent education for every Baton Rouge student.
