TysonDr. Brandy Tyson, Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic and Workforce Development, was recently elected as the Region 2 Representative for the Louisiana Association for Public, Community & Adult Education (LAPCAE) Board of Directors.

LAPCAE makes a strong impact throughout the state by educating the community about the importance of adult education. The organization provides leadership in the advancement of all forms of adult, technical and community education and advocates for increasing literacy rates of adults and children, improving the state’s economy through upskilling adults, and reducing recidivism rates.

In addition to their advocacy efforts, LAPCAE also recognizes adult learners for their achievements through their enrollment in adult education programs, and their continued enrollment and success in postsecondary and workforce programs.
