In response to the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic is causing to all aspects of life, Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) has modified delivery of most courses to the online platform for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. In addition, the College has creatively transitioned many hands- on classes to online using simulations and video demonstrations.  The College continues to support students in as many ways as possible to ensure successful completion of the semester; however, the following options remain open to students.

Request for Withdrawal

A student may elect to withdraw from a course or courses with the grade of “W.” Withdrawals can be completed in your LOLA account. Students are encouraged to contact their Financial Aid advisor at finaid@mybrcc.edu to discuss their financial aid status.

  • The deadline to request withdrawal from a course has been extended from April 3 to May 1, 2020.

Request for Incomplete Grade

In the event that a student has been negatively impacted by COVID19, he/she may request a grade of Incomplete (“I”). In the event a student wishes to receive the “I” grade, they must conference with their instructor(s) via e-mail or through Canvas correspondence or teleconference. The instructor must verify that the student has completed sufficient coursework/met sufficient learning outcomes or competencies and the grade of “I” will be given at the discretion of the instructor. A set period of time for completion of the missing coursework must be agreed upon between the instructor and the student.

  • The deadline to request the “I” grade is Friday, May 1, 2020 (prior to the start of final examinations).
  • The student may be given up to the end of the Fall 2020 semester to complete the coursework/meet learning outcomes and competencies. If coursework or competencies are not competed within that timeframe, the grade automatically converts to an F grade.
