BRCC Spring 2020 Virtual Commencement


Baton Rouge Community College will host a virtual commencement ceremony honoring our Spring 2020 graduates on Friday, May 29, at 10 a.m.  The college will host the ceremony on the college’s Facebook page ( for graduates and their loved ones. The virtual ceremony will include many components of BRCC’s traditional graduation ceremony with messages from BRCC Chancellor Dr. Willie Smith, the academic deans, and college officials.  The name of each graduate will be read aloud during the ceremony and their name and degree, along with a picture will be displayed.


Submit Graduation Photo for Ceremony

The name of each graduate will be read aloud during the ceremony and their name and degree, along with any honors earned will be displayed on the screen. Graduates can also submit a photo to be shown as well. You can submit a nice head and shoulders shot or a pic of you in your graduation cap and gown to by Wednesday, May 20 to be included during the ceremony. The photo should be high resolution, and no larger than 15MB. Please label the photo in the following fashion: Division_First Name_Last Name

If the photo's resolution is too low, we will not be able to include it during the ceremony.

Cap and Gown

Students can still order their caps and gowns until May 22 on the BRCC Bookstore website to ensure delivery by May 29. Visit the website at to place your order today. 


Commencement Highlight Video

The ceremony will include a highlight video with video clips submitted by graduates.  Send us photos of you in your graduation caps and gowns, with friends on campus, at campus events and activities, at your favorite spots at BRCC, and other favorite memories you have while at BRCC. Send these photos and video clips to by Friday, May 22 at 5 pm to be included in the highlight video.


Commencement Recap

Following the virtual commencement ceremony, we want to share photos and video of you celebrating your graduation. Please send us your photos and videos of you celebrating with your family, watching the ceremony at home, wearing your cap and gown, turning your tassel, and marking the celebration of your graduation. Send these photos and video clips  by June 1 at 5 pm to be featured.
