The Division of Liberal Arts at Baton Rouge Community College provides students with the communication and cultural tools needed to succeed in their chosen professional, academic, or artistic path.

The Division of Liberal Arts houses three departments: English and Humanities, which is comprised of English, history, philosophy, humanities, and education; Fine Arts and Communication, which includes speech, foreign languages, music, entertainment technologies, film, theatre, art, and college success skills; and Social Sciences, which includes psychology, sociology, anthropology, paralegal studies, geography, criminal justice, political science, and social work.

The Division of Liberal Arts offers degrees and certificates in the following areas:

The Division of Liberal Arts offers a wide variety of programs for students interested in transferring to four-year universities in majors such as English, studio arts, psychology, education, philosophy, history, music, and African American studies. Additionally, the division helps prepare students who have a career focus in such fields as criminal justice, paralegal studies, web development, audio recording, graphic arts, or the film industry. The Division of Liberal Arts also plays a crucial role in supporting many of the General Education requirements of other programs across the college.
