Center for Teaching and Learning Enhancement

The Center for Teaching and Learning Enhancement shares Baton Rouge Community College’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We honor this commitment by promoting teaching and learning as an ongoing and collaborative processes of inquiry, experimentation, and reflection. Our programs and services are available to the entire college’s teaching community. CTLE helps instructors become reflective practitioners who assess the effectiveness of their teaching practices using data about student learning, apply existing knowledge about high-impact instructional practices to their own classrooms, and contribute to knowledge about effective instruction.

The Center for Teaching and Learning Enhancement is the primary resource for all teaching faculty and staff. Using the latest empirical, data-driven research, CTLE provides professional development programming in a multitude of options. CTLE uses the following BRCC teaching philosophy to guide all programming.

As a learner-centered institution of higher education, Baton Rouge Community College is committed to fostering good teaching that develops deeper learning leading to student success. Good teaching, in its essence, is defined as helping students learn in ways that make a sustained, substantial, and positive influence on how they think, act, and feel.
