BRCC WORK READY U
If you are an adult at least 21 years old and have not graduated from high school, BRCC is ready to help you earn your high school equivalency (HSE) degree . By enrolling in the Work Ready U (WRU) program, you will work towards passing the HiSET test and earning your HSE. You can attend classes onsite at the locations listed below or online through our eLearn Program. Look for new classes to be offered at the following instructional sites in 2020 (Jackson, Frazier, and Central). The enrollment periods are ongoing. BRCC is currently offering WRU classes at the following locations:
- Acadian Instructional Site
- Gardere Area
- New Roads Instructional Site
- Port Allen Instructional Site
In addition, WRU is expanding opportunities by offering Integrated Career Pathways, a unique way for you to earn your HSE while also earning college credit towards receiving your academic credential.
BRCC is currently offering pathways in the following areas:
- Skilled Crafts (NCCER) (welding/electrical)
- Allied Health
JOBS FOR AMERICA'S GRADUATES
If you are between the ages of 16 and 21 and have not graduated from high school, the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program may be right for you. The JAG program focuses on job readiness, leadership development, post-graduate assistance, and mentorship. Enrolling in the JAG program also allows you to work towards passing the HiSET test and earning your high school equivalency (HSE). The enrollment periods are ongoing. The JAG program is offered at the Acadian Instructional Site (AIS) and New Roads Instructional Site (NRIS). This program is free to participants.
5 FOR 6 SCHOLARSHIPS
Students involved in our Work Ready U (WRU) program may also be eligible for the "5 for Six" scholarship program. The scholarship pays for students to attend up to two college classes a semester while enrolled in the WRU program. ENGLISH LANGUAGE AQUISITION
BRCC offers the opportunity to learn to speak English for non-native speakers through our community partnership with Adult Literacy Advocates of Greater Baton Rouge. Students looking for assistance with English as a Second Language (ESL) or English Language Acquisition (ELA) should contact Mr. Gary Robertson at 225.383.1090.

In addition to the BRCC Work Ready U program offered at our instructional site, there are other programs available within the Capital City region to assist adults in preparing to earn their high school equivalency (HSE).
