Academic Support

Baton Rouge Community College is a learner-centered institution that is committed to providing students with the best opportunity to succeed. Because navigating college can be difficult, BRCC offers a number of academic support programs designed to help students succeed in college and at life.

CSSK 1023 is a three credit course. It is designed to create a solid academic foundation and enable you to be successful as you navigate college and beyond. Did you know that more than 90% of students who take this course report that it was useful for all of their coursework? We use an Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook in this course and it is provided free to each enrolled student.  Here are some of the topics covered in CSSK 1023.

CSSK 1023 is offered as an onsite class (in 15 week and 12 week versions) and as an eLearning class (online and hybrid). Instructors use the latest empirically-based research from education science in order to facilitate learning. Students who complete this course are more likely to be successful as they continue their academic career.
