Dr. Myrtle E. B. Dorsey,
Chancellor

We would like to extend a personal thank you for visiting Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) online.  We are especially excited to welcome you as we celebrate A Decade of Excellence in honor of our ten-year anniversary.

Since opening our doors to the public in 1998, BRCC has strived for excellence:  excellence in academics, excellence in overall quality, excellence in accessibility.  As you browse our website, you will find traditional programs as well as ground-breaking new ones, all designed to help you reach your personal and professional educational goals.  And, as a fully accredited member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), our standard of academic excellence is recognized nationwide.

A well-rounded educational experience also demands opportunities for learning and personal enrichment outside the classroom, which is why BRCC has reached for excellence in student activities and campus life.  The college has extracurricular clubs and organizations to fit a variety of interests, and our Student Government Association is active in arranging and sponsoring special events on our campus.  Also, our Performing Arts program has made BRCC a community center for the arts, featuring performances from notable groups and personalities such as Maya Angelou, Bill Cosby, Jay Leno, The Harlem Gospel Choir, and more.

Such standards for academics and extracurricular activities demand excellence from personnel, as well.  From more personalized instruction in smaller classes to the technical and logistical support needed to keep our college running, our faculty and staff have a strong tradition of outstanding service, and they stand ready to assist you.

Welcome to BRCC!  We invite you to join us in another long-standing tradition at our school and imagine what you can do!
