PAYMENT PLAN

FACTS Tuition Management
A simpler way to meet educational Expenses

The following payment plans are available through FACTS starting May 1, 2009.

Payment Plan

  1. Payment Plan Options- There are 3 payment plan options available to students.  The payment plan is available to students online only.  The payment plan options are listed below for the Fall 2009 semester.

    1. 25% Down with 3 monthly payments (Ends August 28, 2009)

    2. 33% Down with 2 monthly payments (Ends September 7, 2009)

    3. 50% Down with 2 monthly payments (Ends September 22, 2009)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • There is a $25.00 fee charged by FACTS to participate in the payment plan.  The fee is non-refundable and is not credited to your tuition account.

  • If you sign up for a payment plan and have made an adjustment to your schedule (added a class or dropped a class) do not adjust your plan with FACTS.  The adjustment will be made through the bursar’s office.

  • If you withdraw from a class and the refund period is over, you are still responsible for all of the tuition owed.  Refunds are based on the amount of tuition and fees charged and not what the student has paid.

    • Example:  You are registered for 12 hours totaling $942.00 and you decide that you only want to take 6 hours.  You signed up for the 33% payment plan.  You withdrew during the 75% refund period.  Your account would be processed as such:

    • To process the original contract of $903.00 tuition and fees owed:

      • $25.00 processing fee to FACTS (This does not go on your account)

      • $942.00 x 33% = $310.86 down payment

      • 2 payments remaining of $315.57 and $315.57.

    • To process the adjustment to your schedule during the 75% refund period:

      • The student withdrew from 2 courses that total $463.50.  Of the $463.50, $45.00 is non-refundable fees.  The remaining amounts will be prorated by the 25% that is still owed to BRCC.  This means that the student’s charges will now be $628.13 for the semester.

      • The payments to FACTS will be adjusted as this:

        • Payment 1 = $158.64

        • Payment 2 = $158.63

It is the student’s responsibility to maintain their FACTS account.  Please note that any adjustments you do to your account in BANNER will adjust your account in FACTS.

The student must first complete registration through BANNER Web. Once the student is satisfied with their class selection, go back to the Student & Financial Aid Menu. Select the option FACTS Payment Plan using E-cashier. Select the term for which the payment plan is being set up for. Click the e-cashier logo. This will direct you to another web page. Some of the student’s information will populate from BANNER Web into the necessary fields. Follow the prompts as necessary. The responsible party’s account information is necessary. The following options are ways to make payment:

Automatic Bank Payment (ACH) – ACH Payments are those payments you have authorized FACTS to process directly with your financial institution. It is simply a bank to bank transfer of funds that you have pre-approved for your expenses at Baton Rouge Community College. Payments may be made from either your checking or savings account. Payments are processed on the 5th of each month and will continue until the balance is paid in full.

Credit Card Option – Many payers select the option of charging their monthly tuition payment to their credit card. Payments will be charged on the 5th of each month until the balance is paid in full. VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are cards accepted by FACTS.

If you have any questions regarding this payment plan, please contact the Bursar’s office at (225) 216-8606.
