Clubs and Organizations
ALPHA DELTA
ALPHA SORORITY
The Americans with Distinction Association (Alpha Delta Alpha Sorority) will
offer students the privilege of unity, lifelong friendships, respect for individuality
and the opportunity to serve our community. Additionally, it will prepare young
ladies to become confident, strong, productive citizens of the community.
BRCC Today
The BRCC Today is the college wide student newsletter. The newsletter contains
articles of college and community interest. Editor and writer positions are
available for on campus and off-campus events.
CAMPUS ACTIVITIES BOARD (CAB)
The Campus Activities Board was established to include BRCC students in the
planning and implementation of student activities and campus life. All BRCC
students are invited to become an active member of this exhilarating organization.
CIRCLE K
Circle K International is an action organization focused on helping community
members. Through support form Kiwanis International, students are able to make
contributions to a variety of social causes. BRCC Circle K is supported by South
Baton Rouge Kiwanis and Audubon Kiwanis.
GOLF CLUB
The Golf Club was established to promote knowledge and appreciation of a game
that dates back to the 15th century. WE ACCEPT ALL SKILL LEVELS! This is your
club, so you will help determine which activities we plan this semester!
Golf has many health benefits, one of the most undervalued health benefits of
golf is the psychological well-being that people get from being outdoors and
playing a game they really enjoy.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
ASSOCIATION (ISA)
The International Students Association is the official representative body of
ethnic and international student organizations at Baton Rouge Community College.
Our mission is to showcase the diversity of the student body by gathering different
groups to work together and sponsor events that will promote a true cultural
experience.
LIBRARY CLUB
The Library club is a service organization designed to promote library awareness
and expand cultural and social awareness through literary subjects. The club
also provides an avenue for students to promote and improve the campus library
facilities.
MLK (Martin Luther
King Center for Peace Association)
MLK Center for Peace Association was established in April 2004 and seeks to
bring about positive change on campus and in the community. The association
will provide meaningful opportunities for each member to promote peace &
social justice.
PEER ADVISORS and
LEADERS
Peer Advisors and Leaders, PALs, is an elite group of BRCC students who are
stanch advocates of college and higher education. PALs are individuals of any
gender and ethnicity, who are strongly recommended by a BRCC faculty or staff
member. They represent BRCC at high school recruiting events and on-campus events
like University/College and Career Day. As student ambassadors, PALs attend
press conferences, conduct campus tours, and speak to groups of prospective
students at the weekly Open House program.
PTEC CLUB
The PTEC Club is for all students who are interested in Process Technology.
The organization provides an avenue for students interested in a rigorous study
of the
common operating process found in petro-chemical plants and will prepare the
student to enter the employment market as a process entry level operator.
ROTARACT CLUB
Rotaract is an international program for adults ages 18 to 30 who want to make
a difference. Based in the community or in a college or university, Rotaract
clubs enable members to grow personally and professionally, address community
needs and promote international understanding through friendship and service.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
ASSOCIATION (SGA)
The SGA is the voice of the student body. SGA also promotes the idea of self-government
and provides student representation concerning campus life. The club sponsors
vital co-curricular activities to enhance individual student development, promote
desired social interaction and provide recreational activities for the students.
STUDENT WRITERS
ASSOCIATION
The Student Writers Association is an avenue which provides a forum for student
writers to collaborate and share their work with the entire BRCC community.
The organization hosts campus wide Open Mic Night to allow students a venue
to express themselves before a captured audience.
25 PLUS SOCIETY
CLUB
The 25 Plus Society was established to foster a network for non-traditional
students 25 years and older. This organization promotes unity and support for
the overall success of its members.
VETERANS CLUB
The Veterans club was established to offer networking opportunities for students
in active duty, reserves and those discharged from military service. Students
who are interested in joining the armed forces are also welcomed.
