In addition to Perkins Basic funds, BRCC receives Perkins Corrections funds to support offenders exiting the correctional institutions. This is designed to aid their employability skills and placement opportunities upon re-entering the workforce.
BRCC targets Perkins Corrections funds at four correctional institutions including Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola), Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (LCIW), Dixon Correctional Institute (DCI), and Elayn Hunt Correctional Center (Hunt).
At Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola), the following programs are supported:

  • Carpentry
  • Culinary Arts
  • Horticulture
  • Welding          

At Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (LCIW), the following programs are supported:

  • Culinary Arts
  • Horticulture
  • Upholstery Technology
  • Welding                      

At Dixon Correctional Institute (DCI), the following programs are supported:

  • Carpentry
  • Collision Repair Technology
  • Welding

At Elayn Hunt Correctional Center (Hunt), the following programs are supported:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Carpentry
  • Welding
