Dean's Welcome

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to the website of the Division of Nursing at Baton Rouge Community College. We are privileged to hold the distinction of being the first public institution in Baton Rouge to offer the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.

We are delighted that you are considering Baton Rouge Community College as the institution where you will pursue your goal of becoming a registered nurse. As a nurse, you will become part of a profession of caring, sensitive individuals who seek to improve the health and well-being of others.

In keeping with the mission of the college, the Division of Nursing offers a collegiate nursing curriculum that promotes continuance of education at a 4-year institution and lifelong learning.  The Nursing Program is designed to provide a quality, innovative nursing education to diverse learners in a structured health care setting. Our graduates will be prepared to deliver culturally sensitive health care to diverse populations in a structured health care setting. Our curriculum incorporates the basic principles of nursing and emphasizes the provision of safe, quality care that is client-centered and evidence based.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site.  Please visit often for updates on new courses and programs, special events, and other news about our program, and the college.  I also encourage you to visit the campus and explore our innovative approach to nursing education.

Much success,
