New Student Orientation sessions to be held June 4 through August 1

To help acclimate new students to Bear culture at Baton Rouge Community College, a series of new student orientation sessions are available, beginning June 4, with the objective of helping new students learn all about their new and upcoming campus experience.

Each New Student Orientation event features a Welcome session, a Financial Aid session, a Campus Tour, a Faculty Panel, and a Family Success Session.  The remaining time will be spent in Student’s Choice.  Student’s Choice will allow students to prioritize their educational and personal needs, choosing from Disability Services Developmental Education/Understanding Test Scores; Advising with their Student Success Guide; Registration; My Major-My Career; LOLA Navigation; FAQs; Room; ROAR; and Transfer Credits.

Sessions on the Mid City campus will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning June 4 and running through August 1.  A session will be held at the Port Allen site, 3233 Rosedale Road, Port Allen, on June 12; at the New Roads site, 605 Hospital Road, New Roads, on June 25; at the Jackson site, 3337 Highway 10, Jackson, on July 22; and at the Frazier site, 555 Julia St., Baton Rouge, on July 23 and 24.
