The presentation was made during a recent meeting of the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council.

Mental Health Awareness Week was designed to raise community awareness about mental health issues and is held to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10. The goal is to promote social and emotional well-being to the BRCC campus and community, by informing and encouraging people to increase their mental health potential through the enhancement of knowledge and community resources.

Mental health issues are important to address year round, but highlighting these issues during MHAW provides a time for students to come together and display a passion and strength for those working to improve the lives of the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
