Dreams Do Come True - Ask Marian Shopp

marianshoppFrom as far back as she can remember, Marian Shopp had dreams of becoming a nurse. Marian's dream became a reality when she received her associate's degree in nursing from Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC).

While attending BRCC, Marian maintained a 3.8 GPA, and was awarded two scholarships from the BRCC Foundation.

"I am deeply grateful to have received both scholarships. The financial support helped me to reach my educational goals and fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse," she said.

Today, Marian enjoys a rewarding career as a Mother-Baby nurse at Woman's Hospital, thanks to gifts from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the Louisiana Pipeliners Association. Marian works alongside her sister Melanie Shopp, who is also a graduate of BRCC's nursing program.

"Marian Shopp truly upholds the mission and values of Woman's Hospital. She is one of the most genuine, caring, and compassionate nurses ever," said Dana Vidrine, director of Mother-Baby at Woman's Hospital.

In Marian's spare time, she loves teaching piano and going on mission trips where she can serve as a nurse.
