Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) will hold its 17th annual Commencement Exercises on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m., in the Bonne Sante' Wellness Center, 201 Community College Drive. More than 600 degrees will be conferred. William Dennis Epps will deliver the keynote address.
W. Dennis Epps joined the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) as senior vice president for workforce solutions in February 2015. In this capacity, he works with system institutions to deliver highly customized workforce development programs to meet the needs of business and industry.
Prior to joining LCTCS, Epps served as the deputy director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia, an internationally recognized leader in the provision of training, research and technical assistance to governmental entities at all levels.
Overall, he has more than 30 years of experience in working with workforce and economic development. He has been actively involved in major research projects in economic development and has extensive experience as a consultant for strategic planning related to community and economic development.
Epps holds a B.S.A. degree from the University of Georgia, a Masters of Education in Adult Education from Georgia Southern University and has completed extensive participated postgraduate study at North Carolina State University. He also holds a vast array of professional and industry certifications.
BRCC is an open admissions, two-year post-secondary public community college. Its curricular offerings includecourses and programs leading to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, technical diplomas, certificates, and associate degrees.
