Formosa Plastics Donates $10,500 to Process Technology Program at Baton Rouge Community College

Representatives from Formosa Plastics recently presented the Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Foundation with a donation of $10,000 to support BRCC’s Process Technology (PTEC) Program.

Kelly Serio, Formosa Vice President and Baton Rouge Plant Manager, Alden Andre, Formosa Vice President of Louisiana New Business Development, and Mike Bledsoe, Formosa’s Human Resource Specialist, met with BRCC’s Chancellor Andrea Lewis Miller and members of the college’s leadership team to present the check and to discuss the future of the PTEC program. Mike Bledsoe has served as Chair of the BRCC PTEC Advisory Board for the past five years.

“I am so grateful for the financial and leadership support from our friends at Formosa,” said Chancellor Lewis Miller. “This is a critical time for our PTEC program. The need has never been greater for a highly skilled, well trained workforce for this industry. With the support of our partners like Formosa, I am confident BRCC will meet that need.”

Formosa Plastics also presented the college with $500.00 to support the BRCC PTEC scholarship fund. “When our students succeed, our businesses and industry succeed,” said Charles Freeburgh, Senior Vice Chancellor for Economic Development and Workforce Solutions at BRCC. “Our college is so fortunate to have a partner like Formosa Plastics who shares our dedication to student success.”
