Baton Rouge Community College's Business Dept. is on board to be the recipient of a March Madness themed fundraiser to be held by City Pork each Thursday in the month of March. For each of City Pork's "Big Pig" sandwiches sold on Thursdays in March, $2 will be donated to BRCC's Business Department. The fundraiser is applicable for both lunch and dinner at City Pork Brasserie & Bar, 7327 Jefferson Highway, City Pork Deli & Charcuterie, 2363 Hollydale Ave., and City Pork Catering and Events, 2921 Government St.

Stephen Hightower, Managing Partner, City Group Hospitality said that City Pork is excited to support the work of BRCC through this fundraiser.

"City Pork is thrilled to partner with Baton Rouge Community College," Hightower said.  "This wonderful institution delivers an outstanding education & develops hardworking professionals living and working in our city.  We are honored to raise awareness through our loyal customer base to help BRCC continue to elevate - One Big Pig at a time!"

Todd Dozier, BRCC's Dean for Business, Social Sciences & History said that the upcoming fundraiser will most benefit students in the Business Dept.

"City Pork is a great organization that continues to give back to the community in addition to serving fabulous food," Dozier said. "This is the first time our Business Department has done a fund raiser like this so we knew working with City Pork would be a great opportunity.

"The students in our Business Department will benefit the most as the proceeds from the fund raiser will enable us to provide more resources to direct toward student success.  Eating really good food and raising money for students, does it get better than this?"

Applicable dates are March 7, 14, 21, and 28. At the end of March, funds will be tallied and dispersed to the BRCC Foundation to benefit the college's Business Dept.
