It’s #FacultyFriday – a day dedicated to introducing the BRCC community to our amazing faculty members. Today the spotlight is on English professor, Clarence Nero.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. Nero has been a professor at BRCC since 2008 where he teaches all level of college English, and specializes in Developmental Writing. He is also an advisor for the Creative Writing Club. Mr. Nero holds a Bachelor of Science from Howard University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from LSU.
What’s your classroom motto?
I believe that words matter, and that what we write and put down on paper can be used as activism to change the world for the better.
What are some of your hobbies or special interests?
I love writing and going to the movies.
What is your message to students of your department?
Our students are amazing at BRCC, and I want them to know to always have the courage to speak up for what they believe in and never waiver on their integrity, values and principles.
What’s one fun fact about you?
I love going to different Chinese buffets and sampling the food!
