The Automotive Collision program at Baton Rouge Community College has received a $5000 donation from community and business leaders at Capital Paint and Supply, PPG, and Tasco Auto Color.
Joining in on the official check presentation was Mr. Wayne Knight – Collision Manager, BRCC; Robert Marler – Operations Manager, Capital Paint and Supply; Jeff Johnson – Territory Manager, PPG; Jimmy Branton – Territory Manager, PPG; Jeff Simmons – General Manager, Tasco Auto Color; Van Guarino – Automotive Program Chair, BRCC; and Jayson Purdy –Automotive Program Manager, BRCC.
The Automotive program at BRCC is a selective admissions program that addresses a high-demand field. This program provides specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare individuals to engage in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles at the entry level. It is designed to prepare students to complete safe and quality repairs and become knowledgeable vehicle repair and maintenance technicians. Students are prepared to complete structural, non-structural, mechanical, electrical, and damage appraisals in the auto body repair industry. Specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience prepare students for employment in a variety of jobs in the field of auto body repair.
