Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joann E. Linville as the new Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Linville brings to BRCC over 30 years of community and technical college experience. She began her career as a faculty member in the nursing program at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon and also served in several academic and student service leadership positions at Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, Washington.
Most recently, Linville worked at the Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona as Vice President for Student Services (2001-2007) and Vice President for Learning Services (2007-2011).
"It is an honor to be of service to the students and faculty of Baton Rouge Community College during this time of transition. Community colleges change the lives of the individuals they serve and contribute to the economic development of community unlike any other organization," said Linville.
"This college is an incredible resource to the Baton Rouge area and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the campus's goal of meeting the educational and workforce needs of the community through its innovative, accessible, and dynamic programs," she continued.
Linville will begin her role as Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs on Monday, Aug. 17.
