|BRCC to Host Annual Developmental Education Symposium|
Baton Rouge Community College's (BRCC) STARS Gate Title III Program in collaboration with BRCC's Teaching & Learning Center will host their 5th annual Developmental Education Symposium.
The event will be held on Thursday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Louisiana Board Room. John N. Gardner will serve as the speaker for the event.
Gardner serves as the President of the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education. He is an educator, university professor and administrator, author, editor, public speaker, consultant, and more.
He is regarded throughout the national and international higher education community as the initiator and leader of an educational reform movement. His work has focused especially on two critical student transitions during the undergraduate years: the first-year experience and the senior-year experience.
“Although the symposium focuses on developmental education, I would encourage any faculty or staff member to attend, and benefit from Gardner’s expertise,” she added.
