BRCC to host NBA, European League players in Pro-Am Tournament

Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) was recently selected as one of the locations to host the Baton Rouge Pro-Am Classic. Family Christian Academy will also host the tournament.

Players from the NBA and European League will converge at BRCC and Family Christian Academy Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11.

The event is a double elimination tournament with 20 teams of current and former professional basketball athletes.  Some of the names will be familiar to local sports fans, such as Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Marcus Thornton, Anthony Randolph, and Ronald Dupree…all LSU basketball alumni.

Many of the other attendees – Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, Ovinton J'Anthony “O.J.” Mayo, Zach Randolph, Stephen Jackson, and Greg Morrow – will be equally familiar.

Proceeds for the event held at BRCC will benefit the BRCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.  Tickets are $10 (one-day) and $15 (two-day passes) for adults; $5 for college students with a valid student ID.
