Baton Rouge Community College along with various universities in Louisiana has created a seamless transition for students who graduate with an associate’s degree in a designated program and want to pursue a bachelor’s degree. After successfully completing an associate degree in a designated program and meeting other specified requirements of the four year institution, students may enter as juniors at the four year institution. Students should see a faculty advisor who will advise and work with student to ensure that the student’s progress is tracked and that they are advised appropriately regarding transfer options. BRCC has agreements for the programs and institutions listed below: Associate Degree Transfer to 4 year Institution Criminal Justice Northwestern State University Business Nicholls State University Business Southeastern Louisiana University Computer Science Southeastern Louisiana University Computer Science Southern University The Associate of Science in Teaching (A.S.T.) is a transfer degree program that addresses the requirements of the newly redesigned Baccalaureate of Science in Elementary Education offered by the public and private colleges of education in Louisiana. The A.S.T. initially offers a concentration in the elementary 1st through 5th grades certification area. This degree provides an additional offering for nontraditional and traditional students who desire to become certified elementary school teachers in Louisiana.
