|Overcoming Barriers – Disability Awareness Month|
Every year the Office of Disability Services (ODS) plans activities to celebrate the Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Disability Awareness Month for students, faculty and staff.
Some of the activities that have been successful in the past are:

This collaboration with the Art Department sponsored by the Louisiana Branch of the International Dyslexia Association began with a gala opening celebration and judging. The show was open to all student work with the theme, "Overcoming Barriers."
Overcoming Barriers - Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon
This luncheon, sponsored by the Louisiana Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, has been a tribute to the synergy between ODS and the BRCC faculty/staff which provides BRCC ODS students with quality education and maximum success. Speakers from the community spoke at the event on topics of interest to instructors of students with disabilities.
Overcoming Barriers - Adult Learning Conference
This conference was open to the Baton Rouge Community as a resource for adult students and professionals to learn more about how students with learning disabilities can be successful in the college setting.
