Pre-Algebra click for syllabus
Focus of this course is reinforcing basic arithmetic skills, which should provide a strong mathematical foundation to pursue further study. Therefore, emphasizes will be placed on fundamental numerical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. As well as, focus on percentages, ratios and proportions, rational numbers, and introductory algebraic concepts. Upon completion, students should be able to perform basic computations and solve relevant, multi-step mathematical problems using technology where appropriate. A grade of “C” or better is required for successful completion of this course. While this is a structured, self-paced computer-assisted instruction course, it will benefit the student who is self-motivated and possesses basic computer literacy skills.

Elementary Algebra click for syllabus
Establishes a foundation in algebraic concepts and problem solving for the student with a limited algebraic background, but with a solid foundation in basic arithmetic skills. The content reviews the fundamental operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving integers and fractions, graphing on the number line, evaluating simple expressions and polynomials, simplifying expressions, solving and evaluating linear equations and inequalities, and solving application problems. Upon completion, students should be able to apply the above concepts in problem solving using technology where appropriate. A grade of “C” or better is required for successful completion of this course. While this is a structured self-paced computer-assisted instruction course, it will benefit the student who is self-motivated and possesses basic computer literacy skills.

Intermediate Algebra click for syllabus
Continues the study of algebraic concepts with emphasis on applications; and covers equations and inequalities, graphs and functions, systems of equations, polynomials and polynomial functions, radical expressions and equations, roots, radicals, complex numbers, and quadratic functions. Upon completion, students should be able to apply the above concepts in problem solving using technology where appropriate. A grade of "C" or better and demonstrated proficiency on the Departmental Comprehensive is required for successful completion of this course. While this is a structured, self-paced computer-assisted instruction course, it will benefit the student who is self-motivated and possesses basic computer literacy skills.
