Baton Rouge Community College was founded in 1998. At that time the College was housed in one building: Governors Building. The first semester in the fall of 1998, 1,866 students were enrolled.

2005 – Total of 12 buildings representing over 439,400 square feet comprise our campus.

BRCC offers associate degrees in five disciplines:

Enrollment for the fall of 2005 is expected to exceed 6,000. 
Currently, BRCC has a

In 2005, in a graduation survey issued to BRCC students:         

100% of the students reported achieving their goals through attending BRCC. 
78% said they plan to transfer to a four-year college or university.
69% said that they plan to go to work immediately after graduation.
