STEP INTO FINANCIAL AID AT BRCC in 2008-2009

Step 1: To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 
You should first register for Pin at www.pin.ed.gov

• Select apply for pin (Parents of dependent students should also apply for a PIN)
• Read the welcome page and select next
• Enter personal information and select next
• Check the mailing information for accuracy and select yes
• Select submit application, and print confirmation page

Step 2:  You may complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  To complete the FAFSA:

• Have your 2007 Federal Income Tax return available (must submit to BRCC later)
• Fill out entire application (nothing should be blank, enter a ‘0’ if that is the answer)
• Enter school code: BRCC   037303
• Sign your application electronically with your PIN (faster) or print signature page and mail it in to the federal processor
• Please be sure and select submit once you complete the application

 Step 3:  Once you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR), report to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at BRCC.  You will need to provide the documents below.  If your SAR has comment codes, they must be addressed at this time.

• Provide a signed copy of your 2007 Federal Income Tax Return
• Complete the Verification Packet located on our website.  These forms can be downloaded at: http://www.mybrcc.edu/financial_aid/downloadslinks.php
• Request for book assistance for the year with this application
• Dependent or Independent Verification Form(If you are a dependent, your parent (s) signature (s) is (are) required also)
• The Office of Financial Aid will make any required corrections for you
• You must declare a major in Enrollment Services (Undeclared majors are not eligible.)
