Online Assessment

Are You Ready To Use Blackboard?

Disclaimer -Please Read before proceeding with assessment
1. If you join or participate in an online class, some personal information such as your name and email address or phone number may be shared with your classmates and the instructor. By joining or participating in an online class you agree and accept that information about you may be accessible to fellow class participants. BRCC does not allow people to enter an online classroom (once an instructor has approved enrollment) anonymously or as a guest. If you decide to join and/or participate in an online class, you agree and accept that you are no longer anonymous to the instructor, to other students in the class, or to us.
2. Baton Rouge Community College is not responsible for your connection to the Internet or the type of Web Browser you decide to use. While we try to make our site as accessible as possible to the widest range of web browsers on the market, not all web browsers are fully compatible with our Course Management software. Additionally, we are not responsible for your connection to the Internet, network latency, network outages, or any obstacle that prevents you from accessing our service.
3. Orientation participation. Once you have been enrolled and have paid for your online course, you will be required to attend the orientation session that is offered 1 week prior to the first day of class. Online orientation will be available if the student cannot be present. Students participating in Online orientation will then sign an opt-out of orientation letter and mail or deliver back to the institution prior to first day of class. These documents can be found on the Electronic Learning Center webpage of the BRCC website. Failure to attend an orientation session or adhere to opt-out letter procedures will result in the student being blocked from the class until the letter is received by the institution.

Baton Rouge Community College encourages all students to complete an Electronic Learning Assessment prior to registering for online courses.
This is a self assessment tool so please answer truthfully. Once you have taken the self assessment, and are still considering taking online courses, then proceed with the registration process (see Registration Steps).
All students interested in registering for online courses should contact their assigned advisor for assistance.
