Will the courses transfer to LSU, Southern or SLU?

What is academic probation/suspension?
A student who earns a GPA below 2.00 on all hours attempted will be placed on academic probation. Students will remain on probation until a minimum overall GPA of 2.00 all hours attempted is earned. Failure to earn a minimum GPA of 2.00 on all hours attempted during the semester will result in suspension from BRCC for at least one semester. For more information regarding probation/suspension, consult the Office of Enrollment Services.

I have a complaint dealing with an academic matter. What procedure do I need to follow?
The procedure for an academic appeal can be found in the current college catalog and in the Student Handbook. In short, the policy states that a student who has a complaint regarding an academic matter, i.e. grading dispute with an instructor, should first attempt to resolve the matter with the instructor. If that fails, the student should attempt to resolve the matter with the appropriate dean, director, or vice chancellor. You will find the BRCC
Faculty/Staff Directory at the following link:  http://www.brcc.cc.la.us/directory/index.php

What do I do if I'm sick and miss classes?
Perfect, punctual class attendance should be the goal of every student. Predictable absences should be discussed with instructors beforehand; others as soon as possible after they occur. Instructors will request verification of reason for absences or tardiness. If you are unable to contact your instructor, contact
Faculty Support Offices, (225) 216-6800 or (225) 215-0426 and leave a message for your instructor.

When are the school holidays?
You can check the Academic Calendar in the Catalog or on BRCC's website.

What kind of student activities does BRCC offer?
For more information, contact the Office for Student Programs and Resources for updated activities.

Where do I go for help with study skills?
Contact the
Academic Learning Center for free academic and personal development services for all students in study skills, tutoring, and writing assistance.
