The Department of Automotive Technology within the Division of Transportation Technology at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Automotive/Diesel Instructor.  This is a full-time, twelve month, position and is open until filled.

The purpose of the Automotive Technology Program is to provide specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare individuals to engage in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles at the entry level.  The program prepares the individual to select, safely use, and maintain hand and power tools, jacks, and hoisting equipment.  Instruction in the diagnosis of malfunctions and the repair of engines; fuel, electrical, cooling, and brake systems; drive train; and suspension systems are included.

The Automotive/Diesel Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality instruction to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program leading to an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Automotive Technology.  The incumbent will have a knowledge of teaching methods, assessment techniques, outcomes, reporting and documentation as required to maintain appropriate accreditation and to prepare students to enter the workforce highly qualified to perform according to industry needs and standards.

This position reports directly to the Automotive Technology Department Chair
